Ultra-Trail® World Tour on the path of the mozart 100®

In Austria, sport and culture are two pillars of the country. The organization of mozart 100® decided to reunite this two themes with the breathtaking scenery during the 105 kilometers of the race. Along the trail of Sound of Music, the mozart 100® is the most famous trail running event in Austria. This year, the competition promises to be intense with talented athletes on the start line.

A landscape listed as UNESCO World Heritage:

All the participants of mozart 100® are looking forward to starting this mythical race. The start and the finish of the 105 kilometers will take place in the city center of Salzburg, a UNESCO World Heritage, and between, the runners will appreciate the breathtaking region of the SalzburgerLand with its beautiful forests, meadows, hills, and rivers. Austrian atmosphere in addition with the professionalism of the organization will accompany the runners during the 105 kilometers of the race and the 4 600 meters of the elevation gain.

A wonderful list of female athletes for the Austrian race:

On June 17th, there will be five athletes for one only place of winner and they are all impressive. The favorite of the competition will be undoubtedly Francesca CANEPA. Her track record is simply unbelievable with a victory at Vibram Hong Kong 100 Ultramarathon 2014, a victory at 100 Miles of Istria 2017 and a lot of second places at Transgrancanaria HG and The North Face® Lavaredo Ultra Trail 2014. The Italian woman is in a shape at this moment and it is going to be difficult to beat her in Austria.

Another Italian woman probably could win the Mozart 100 this year and her name is Cecilia FLORI. This athlete began the UTWT competition this year with Tarawera Ultramarathon and what a performance for this 37-year-old Italian! She finished third of the race behind Camille HERRON and Magdalena BOULET.

Simona MORBELLI (ITA), Kath CARTY (AUS) and Ulrike STRIEDNIG (AUT) also will have good opportunities on a course like mozart 100®’s. With this race, everything is still possible and these three athletes can take up the challenge and pick the coveted first place.

An international race in Austria on the men side:

An Italian, a Hungarian and a Portuguese…  The three favorites of the mozart 100® come from three different countries but one thing bring them closer together: their determination to win the race. Alexander RABENSTEINER (ITA), with an ITRA performance index 835, will have big chances to cross the finish line in the first position but Csaba NEMETH (HUN) and Francisco FREITAS (POR) will follow him very closely during the 105 kilometers.

Other athletes will also start the race this Saturday and they can surprise us on the Austrian land. We do not know yet the end of the story of mozart 100® this year. Answer on June 17th!
