At the bottom of Eiger

The Eiger Ultra-Trail®, the race at the bottom of Eiger, will start on saturday, July 16th for its 4th edition !

Atop its 13 025 feet, the Eiger and its North face, is impressive and fascinating to climbers and trail runners !

If in August 2008 Ueli Steck, famous climber burst all imaginable boundaries with his solo Speed Record attempt on the North Face in no more than 2 hours and 47 minutes, since July 20th, 2013, takes place the Eiger Ultra-Trail® where a few thousand runners, from around the world, face one of the routes with a total of 169 km and 10 500 m +.

Trail E101-Ultra Trail will lead you from Grosse Schneidegg, to mountain guesthouse Faulhorn, Schynige Platte, Wengen, Männlichen, Kleine Schneidegg, until the notorious crossing under the Eiger North Face. With its 101 km and 6700 m+, it’s a difficult course, but a unique new experience you will want to come back for.

Last year, Urs Jenzer and Caroline Chaverot won the race in 11h44min and 12h45min.

2016 edition looks promising with an incredible top athletes list, up to the challenge. Urs Jenzer, Francesca Canepa, Andrea Huser, Cyril Cointre, Sangé Sherpa, Jordi Gamito-Baus, Freddy Thevenin, Erik Clavery, Ildiko Wermescher, Ueli Steck, and much more, will be at the start E101 this saturday, July 16th.
