Sarah KEYES and Vivien LAPORTE dominated the Ultra Trail® Harricana

The 3rd Ultra Trail Harricana took place last weekend  (8th-9th of September 2017) close to Charlevoix (Quebec). A new Ultra Trail World Tour® race after the UTMB® weekend.

An international race:

176 participants started the main race of UTHC® for this 2017 edition. 28 different nationalities joined this race, which is getting more popular, and welcomes more and more international runners. This race was intense because of its 125-Km technical route, but also the rain and a complicated weather.

New race records for the 3rd edition:

For the females, Sarah KEYES (USA), 6th at scratch, broke the UTHC® record in 14h31’35’’ with more than 1 hour on the second participant, Alexandra EARLE (USA) and the third, Sarah Verguet Moniz (Quebec).

In the men race, Vivien LAPORTE (France) broke the race record as well, in 12h48’14’’.43 minutes before Luis Tomas Lopez Villagran (Québec), who was already 2nd last year, and more than 1 hour before the 3rd Thomas Duhamel (Québec).

The French runner wanted  to pay tribute to his friend, Matthieu Craff, who passed away a few weeks ago on the « Mont Blanc », by hanging his picture on his backpack.

This 2017 edition was a great success. Thanks to the UTHC® for this well organised race and the volunteers’ kindness, but also for the famous #freeyourwild.
