The North Face® Transgrancanaria – Results

The North Face® Transgrancanaria marked the 3rd visit of the Ultra-Trail® World Tour in 2015.

Conditions proved to be quite challenging this year. With warm temperatures and strong winds blowing sand over from the Saharan desert to Gran Canaria, the runners had to be at their best.

The elite athlete field was even stronger in 2015 compared to the last edition. And with so many potential TOP3 runners in the front, there had to be some carnage. Elites like Yan-Long Fei & Iker Karrera had to abandon the race due to fatigue or other issues.

But it wasn’t only the temperatures that challenged the trail runners. The course of The North Face® Transgrancanaria is known to be a rather technical one. With long climbs and ascents riddled with cacti and loose stones, nobody could afford to neglect focus.
