The UTWT® BONUS STAGE in Morocco
Marathon des Sables
The 33rd edition of the “Marathon des Sables” was incredible! From April 6th to 16th during 6 stages, the runners discovered the best of the Sahara Desert in Morocco. The stages were as follow:
– 1st stage: 30,3Km
– 2nd stage: 39Km
– 3rd stage: 31,6Km
– 4th stage: 86,2Km
– 5th stage: 42,2Km
– 6th (charity stage): 7,7Km
All in all, more than 230Km to finish the Ultra-Trail® World Tour’s Bonus Series stage. A race who has been welcoming, year after year, more and more international Elite Runners from 49 countries. These runners look for a new ultra distance challenge and the Marathon des Sables offers it. 977 runners were on the starting line to achieve one of the hardest races in the world! The sand, the wind and the heat made it very difficult. The bonus series race is famous for being a real human experience in performing and suffering from the beginning until the end.
