The season continues in New Zealand with a top-level lineup

The Tarawera Ultramarathon (February 5-9) marks the second stage of the Ultra-Trail® World Tour season, following a particularly successful 2020 edition of the Vibram® Hong Kong 100 (men's and women's 100k records broken). The Tarawera Ultramarathon is celebrating its 12th edition this year, with 3000 athletes running the 4 races (50% more than in 2019). 45% of these athletes come from abroad, and no less than 59 countries are represented. Apart from New Zealand, the most represented countries are Australia (646), Great Britain (91), the United States (90) and France (65). A great success for this international event fully integrated into the Ultra-Trail® World Tour.

For four days, the trail running community will discover the Maori culture, its sumptuous landscapes and the warm and friendly welcome of the kiwis. As for the courses, they will take runners through the magnificent regions of Tarawera and Rotorua, winding through forests and wild lakes.

The Tarawera Ultramarathon marks the continuation of the season for the community of athletes, fans, media, sponsors and organizers of the Ultra-Trail® World Tour, a circuit that brings together the most iconic and prestigious long-distance trail running races of the planet. Note that the existing overall and annual rankings will be unified into a single permanent ranking based on each athlete's four best results in the Ultra-Trail® World Tour races over the previous 24 months. A great opportunity for all trail running enthusiasts to explore the world while having the chance to go beyond their limits. The 2020 season is going to be exciting!
